Tailed Jay

This Tailed Jay had just emerged and was still trying to stretch his wings. Thank goodness for P&S cameras that you can take pictures one-handed.

What a beauty. It sure looks content to stay on your finger and dry.

I believe the North Rim's Grand Lodge was designed by a man named Underwood who also designed the Awanee in Yosemite and Timberline Lodge at Mt Hood.

He designed one of the lodges there and I thought it was that one. Anyway hes was a very famous designer in the late 1800's.

The Grand Lodge was completed in 1928, burned in 1934 and rebuilt by 1937. Maybe this guy designed a South Rim lodge, there's a lot of them.

Oh yes, maybe that is where it comes in. From the picture they showed of it, it looked a lot like the one you posted so I assumed it was the same one. Thanks for the info Gaelyn.

I am off in a few hours. Cant wait!!
