She had built her nest high up on a black painted roof so I was not able to get a very good picture of her but after taking down the nest, got some fairyly good shots of what she was guarding.

This beetle I cannot find in any of the books or websites but he is obviously a wingless, ground-burrowing one. His body length is about 2 inches and closely resembles The Red-spotted Lilly Weevil.

This one was climbing up the wall of the cottage. He got such a fright at having his picture taken, that he fell onto the ground and I was able to get this interesting one of his cute little feet.I took him and put him on a nearby bush.
